Lenses which can be produced in very large volumes by injection molding tag along the disadvantage of very low laser damage thresholds. For this reason, many optical components for laser material processing are realized via lithographic means or diamond turning as diffractive elements. Both solutions are expensive.
We have developed a precise molding process which enables us to manufacture beam shaping elements in larger volumes in a cost effective fashion. This hot embossing process can be employed for the manufacture of both refractive as well as diffractive optical elements.
